The Rochelle Area Community Foundation (RACF) is honored to partner with Central Bank through their associate payroll deduction program.

On Monday, a ribbon cutting and grand opening event was held for K&K Creative Links, a new business that offers custom-fit permanent jewelry such as bracelets, necklaces and anklets. K&K Creative Links resides inside The Cypress House at 718 10th Ave. in Rochelle and does private parties as well. 

Michelle Pease (president) and Lance Charnock (president-elect) currently serve in leadership positions of the Rochelle Rotary Club. 

A new design has been chosen for the City of Rochelle’s water tower off the Illinois Route 251 overpass after a social media vote. 

At its monthly meeting on Tuesday, the Rochelle School District 212 Board of Education received an update from Principal Chris Lewis about upcoming events at the high school as well as recent awards presented to Rochelle Township High School staff members.

The Freedom of Faith, Places of Worship in Rochelle exhibit recognizes many of our places of worship, some that date back to the 1850s. A reception with refreshments will be held on Feb. 24 from 1-4 p.m. at the museum.

Fairways Golf Course will be open for play Sunday, Feb. 18 through Thursday, Feb. 22. Tee times start at 10 a.m. The Pro Shop will be open to take tee times over the phone on Sunday, Feb. 18 at 9 a.m. Additional days may be added as weather permits.

Rochelle Township High School’s speech team competed in the IHSA Sectional Speech Tournament on Feb. 10. As a team, Rochelle placed third out of the 32 teams that were in the sectional.

Are you looking for a fun, friend-filled, free club to learn about vegetables and gardening? Ogle County 4-H is excited to partner with Flagg-Rochelle Public Library and the Ogle County Master Gardeners to teach youth about growing vegetables. This new horticulture club, Rochelle Green Thumbs 4-H Club, is open to any youth in Ogle County, ages 8-18, by Sept. 1, 2023.

The Rochelle Area Community Foundation (RACF) opens its 2024 Community Needs Grant Cycle on Feb. 1, 2024 for all qualified non-profit agencies, organizations, schools, churches, government and municipality partners who serve the Rochelle, Kings, Chana, Lindenwood, Esmond, Steward and Creston areas.

The Rochelle Area Community Foundation (RACF) is honored to partner with Jeff Perry Autos through their December sales event coupled with donations. A portion of each vehicle purchased from Jeff Perry Autos was slated for the RACF Endowment Fund, which also included general donations, totaling $925.

Scholarships are available through the Rochelle Community Hospital Auxiliary to area students who are planning to pursue careers in the healthcare field. Five scholarships are available in 2024 which include the Ward A. and Mabel T. Miller Scholarship.

St. Paul Lutheran School in Rochelle recently released its honor roll information for the second quarter of the 2023-2024 school year.

At the Flagg Township Museum it will be warm and cozy and all about snow. Snow Day at the Museum will be held on Saturday, Jan. 20 between noon and 4 p.m. when the museum is open. We definitely have snow, and we definitely have cold temperatures so it’s a perfect day to come inside for some fun snow activities and wintry treats.

Over 1,100 students received their degrees from Northern Illinois University in December.
