MAPLE PARK — Three Rochelle Hub varsity soccer players scored goals to lead the offense during Monday evening’s Interstate 8 Conference road match against the Kaneland Knights.

Senior forward Alberto Casillas scored Rochelle’s first-half goal, while junior forward Kevin Orozco and sophomore forward Danny Garcia added second-half goals for the Hubs, who conceded a 6-3 loss to the Knights on Monday. Junior goalkeeper Antonio Hueramo recorded five saves for the Hubs (4-5-1, 0-2 Interstate 8), who will face Morris on the road Wednesday.

Kaneland held a 2-0 advantage after scoring in the sixth and 19th minutes. Casillas cut the deficit to one with a goal in the 26th minute, but the Knights answered in the 35th minute to command a 3-1 halftime advantage. After Kaneland scored in the 48th minute, Orozco brought the Knights within two during the 63rd minute, cashing in an unassisted goal for the Hubs.

A foul in the box resulted in a penalty-kick goal for the Knights during the 71st minute. Despite Garcia’s goal on an assist from junior midfielder Antonio Ruiz in the 77th minute, Rochelle was unable to rally from the large deficit created by the Knights, who also scored in the 75th minute. Kaneland slightly outpaced Rochelle 21-20 in shots and 15-10 in shots on goal Monday night.
