Posted

ROCHELLE – The City of Rochelle's sealcoat project is set to take place beginning at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21 and finishing by 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23, resulting in periodic lane closures in several areas. Should the project be delayed by rain, seal coating will continue on Monday, Aug. 26. No parking signage will be posted along the affected areas and vehicles remaining on the street after 6 a.m. Aug. 21 will be towed.

Please use caution while traveling through construction zones and pay close attention to traffic control devices and flaggers. No parking signage will be posted.

Areas scheduled for seal coat this year include: North 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 8th and 9th Streets; 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th Avenues; Cherry Avenue; North Main Street, north of 10th Avenue; Meadow Lane; Turkington Terrace; and Brookside Drive, Crest Lane, Northknoll Drive., Springdale Drive, Sunnymeade Drive, Short Court, Tilton Manor Drive, and Fairview Drive.

As a result of the long-term capital plan to address maintenance requirements, numerous streets and roadways have been identified for maintenance. The application of a seal coat surface treatment is a cost-effective way to maintain and preserve the life of these streets.
