ROCHELLE — Rochelle Township High School junior Brisa Zepeda recently was awarded the Rochelle Rotary Service Above Self Award for April.

Zepeda is part of the Ballet Folklorico dance team at RTHS and spends many hours practicing and performing with her group throughout the community at local events and schools. She is also a member of the cross country and track teams. Her track coach said, "Brisa is a hard worker and models the behavior that he would like his entire team to have." She was also recently voted in as Student Council president for 2024-2025.

Brisa has accumulated over 260 Silver Service volunteer hours during her high school years. She has participated in Make a Difference Day, been a member, as well as assisted with the St. Patrick's Church Choir, volunteered as a Library Media Center mrotonitor during her study hall, and volunteered as a CAN shopping trip helper.
