CRESTON — Susan Englert, 68, of rural Creston, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, September 11, 2024, near Oakley, Kansas. 

She was born March 8, 1956, in Elgin, IL, the daughter of Donald and Maurine (Burnell) Weberpal. Sue was married to her husband Ken Englert on December 30th, 1978, in Wayne, IL. She was a graduate of the University of Illinois. 

Sue’s faith in Jesus and love for the gospel motivated her priorities as she lived her life intentionally serving others. She had an unwavering commitment to truth; she was selfless and hard-working. A cheerful resilience endeared her to everyone who knew her. She was wise, steady, humble, resourceful, and compassionate. 

Sue was a faithful and loving wife. She invested her life into mothering her six children whom she educated at home over the course of 27 years before pursuing work as a Realtor with Elm Street Realtors for 17 years. 

She is survived by her husband Ken and their six children: Anna Anderson (Paul Anderson), Daniel Englert (Amy Englert), Ruth Giuliano (John Giuliano), David Englert (Erin Englert), Sarah Wilson (Taylor Wilson), and Mark Englert (Hannah Englert). 

Sue was “Grammie” to 16 grandchildren which were the love of her life (Adelaide, Lincoln, Eleanor, &Vivian Giuliano; Owen, Emma, &Asher Anderson; Nathan, Elizabeth, Charles, Brooks, &Katherine Englert; Forrest, Autumn, & Expected 2025 Englert; Levi Wilson). 

The memorial service will be held at 10:00a.m. Friday, September 20, 2024, at Bethany Road Bible Church, 2215 Bethany Rd, DeKalb, IL. A private burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Creston. 

Visitation will be held 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September19, 2024, at Anderson Funeral Home 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, IL 60115.
