AURORA — The Rochelle Hub varsity tennis team played its final nonconference match of the season on Tuesday evening, falling 5-0 against Marmion Academy. The Hubs (6-11, 1-4 Interstate 8) will host the IHSA 1A Rochelle Sectional, which runs Friday and Saturday.

Marmion Academy took both singles matches on Tuesday. Senior Jimmy Chavez was swept in an 0-6, 0-6 loss against Benedict Graft at No. 1 singles, while sophomore Philip Winters took one game in a 1-6, 0-6 loss against Samuel Lin at No. 2 singles. Senior Parker Lenkaitis and sophomore Mark Green went into a third set during the No. 1 doubles match against Andrew Mumford and Owen Theriault, winning the first but ultimately falling 6-3, 4-6, 8-10.

Senior Eli Luxton and freshman Samuel Sergeant claimed three games in their 1-6, 2-6 loss against Owen Cousins and Jack Sitar at No. 2 doubles, while senior Alex McBride and sophomore Caleb Mortensen played a close second set during their No. 3 doubles match against Sam Pall and Will Klish, taking six total games in a 2-6, 4-6 defeat.
