PEORIA — The Rochelle Township High School varsity cross country team headed south for the First to the Finish Invitational at Detweiller Park on Saturday. The Hubs finished 48th and the Lady Hubs finished 51st in a meet that featured high schools from all around the state.

Freshman Tyler Johnson ran the fastest time for the Hubs, clocking in at a season-best 16:25.70 to land in 79th out of 607 varsity runners in Class 2A. Junior Declan McGee finished 182nd with a season-best time of 17:28.30. Juniors Elijah Mayen and Levi Waddle ran times of 20:15.30 and 20:26.70, while sophomore Hunter Bivins clocked in at 20:35.20 to round out the top five scoring runners for the Hubs.

Junior Annaliese Koziol led the Lady Hubs on Saturday, finishing 61st out of 466 varsity runners with a season-best time of 19:57.70. Sophomore Vivian Worthington ran a time of 24:43.30, while junior Rose Luxton and senior Brisa Zepeda followed with times of 25:14.10 and 26:33.90. Rochelle's next meet is scheduled for Thursday at Skare Park.
