ROCHELLE — Inez Therese Henna, 93 of Rochelle, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Rochelle Community Hospital. She was born on September 25, 1930, in Waterman, IL, the daughter of Ivar and Therese Omunda (Hetland) Henna. 

Inez graduated from Shabbona High School in 1948 and entered Rockford Hospital School of Nursing two weeks later, where she graduated in 1951. Inez dedicated much of her life to caring for others as a registered nurse, which included being a nurse supervisor at Kishwaukee Community Hospital. Inez had an immense love of world travel, which included going to Norway numerous times to visit relatives, as well as taking many cruises. In addition to being very creative with crafts and knitting, she was an avid photographer. Tante (Aunt) Inez was proud of her Norwegian heritage, and expressed this with her authentic Scandinavian cooking. Above all Inez loved her family near and far. 

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Nancy of Rochelle; nephew: Phillip (Kristine) Henna; great-nephews, Ethan and Riley; great-niece, Kaley of Cottage Grove, MN; and several cousins. 

Her parents and brother, Hardy, preceded her in death. 

Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St. in Rochelle. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery in Steward, IL.
