Police Reports

On Sept. 14 at approximately 2:38 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 5,000 block of North Freeport Road.  After investigation, deputies placed Ivan Rivera, 27, of Freeport under arrest for an active failure to appear Stephenson County warrant for trespassing.  Rivera was transported to county line and relayed to Stephenson County deputies where he was held in lieu of bond. 

On Sept. 13 at 1:22 p.m. Mario Reynosa-Montalvo, 27, of Rochelle was arrested on an Ogle County warrant and transferred.

On Sept. 10 at 3:12 p.m. deputies initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Illinois Route 251 and East Illinois Route 64. After a brief investigation the passenger, Alphonse Delatorre, 53, of Rochelle, was arrested for an outstanding warrant from McHenry County. Delatorre was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he is held in lieu of bond.

On Sept. 9 at 10:52 p.m. Timothy J.G. Mendez, 41, of Steward was cited for no valid registration. He signed a promise to comply and was given an Oct. 4 Rochelle court date.

On Sept. 6 at 8:40 a.m. the Ogle County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop at Dutch Road and Illinois Route 251. Subsequent to the stop, Chelsey T. Cole, 34, of Rockford, was arrested for driving while license revoked, no insurance, and suspended registration.  She was processed at the Ogle County Jail and released on a notice to appear and given a court date.

On Sept. 6 at 6:26 p.m. Jared W.H. Romano, 25, of DeKalb was cited for expired registration and no insurance. He signed a promise to comply and was given an Oct. 4 Rochelle court date.

On Aug. 28 at 4:44 p.m. the Ogle County Sheriff's Office Special Operations Unit, along with the DeKalb Police Department Advanced Criminal Enforcement Team (ACET), conducted a traffic stop on East Hickory Ridge Drive and Skare Road in Rochelle. During the traffic stop, Kyler Powell, 21, of DeKalb was arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance (cocaine). Powell was transported to the Ogle County Jail, processed, and released due to the SAFE-T Act. Powell was then transported to the Dekalb County Jail by the DeKalb Police Department ACET team for active felony warrants out of DeKalb County.

On Sept. 3 at 7:36 p.m. Zackary R. Helser, 19, of Rochelle was arrested for no valid driver’s license and cited for no insurance and disobeying a stop sign. He signed a promise to comply and was given an Oct. 4 Rochelle court date.

On Aug. 30 at approximately 6 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop on a 2005 Saturn Ion for an equipment violation at Illinois Route 2 and Illinois Route 72.  After conducting an investigation, Mandrell Woods, 32, of Davenport, Iowa, was arrested and cited for driving while license revoked.  Woods was transported to the Ogle County Jail, where he was processed and released on a notice to appear.

On Aug. 28 at 11:43 p.m. Emilio S. Nava, 23, of Rochelle was cited for disobeying a traffic control device. He signed a promise to comply and was given a Sept. 20 Rochelle court date.

On Aug. 27 at approximately 5:39 a.m. deputies responded to a one-vehicle accident in the 11,000 block of East Illinois Route 38. After conducting an investigation, it was determined that a beige 2005 Chevrolet 2500 was southbound on South Center Road, when it exited the west side of the roadway, and partially entered a standing corn field. The beige Chevrolet then reentered South Center Road, crossed East Illinois Route 38, and entered the southwest ditch. The beige Chevrolet drove through a standing bean field south of East Illinois Route 38, before turning east, crossing South Center Road, and then entered the east ditch. The beige Chevrolet struck a utility pole with the passenger side of the truck, and entered a standing corn field. The beige Chevrolet turned around in the standing corn field, before re-entering South Center Road, and proceeding westbound on East Illinois Route 38. The beige Chevrolet then became disabled in the lane of traffic. The driver of the beige Chevrolet, William Mongan, 31, of Oregon was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol. Mongan was also issued citations for leaving the scene of an accident, improper lane usage, operating an uninsured vehicle, transportation of an open alcohol container, and no seatbelt. Mongan was taken by Rochelle EMS to Rochelle Community Hospital for treatment of his injuries during the incident. Mongan was released on a notice to appear with a future court date.

On Aug. 27 at 9:21 p.m. Joseph Solano, 18, of Rochelle was cited for speeding 65 miles per hour in a 40 miles per hour zone. He signed a promise to comply and was given a Sept. 20 Rochelle court date.

On Aug. 23 at 4 p.m. the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office arrested Daniel Roman, 42, of Rochelle, on an outstanding warrant for driving suspended.  He was taken to the Ogle County Jail and held without bond.

On Aug. 23 at 7:15 p.m. Natanael Gonzalez-Moran, 36, of Rochelle was arrested for domestic battery and transferred.

On Aug. 20 at approximately 9:21 p.m. deputies responded to 3961 W. Illinois Route 64, at the Mt. Morris Motel, for a report of damage to a vehicle. After a brief investigation, Denise Wagoner, 38, of Mt. Morris, was arrested for criminal damage to property. Wagoner was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held pending a court appearance in front of a judge.

On Aug. 20 at 2:59 p.m. Louis A. Cote, 67, of Rochelle was arrested for battery. He was released on a notice to appear with a Sept. 20 Ogle County court date.

On Aug. 17 at approximately 10:29 p.m. deputies attempted to stop a purple Kawasaki 500R sports bike traveling southbound on North Mulford Road from East Crill Road. The Kawasaki fled at speeds in excess of 90 miles per hour and disregarded a stop sign. After a short pursuit, the Kawasaki lost control and crashed at the intersection of North Kilbuck Road and East Royster Road. Deputies made contact with the driver, Anthony J. Doyle, 20, of Lindenwood. Doyle was treated by Monroe Center EMS and New Milford EMS personnel and transported to a local area hospital with minor injuries. Doyle was placed under arrest for aggravated fleeing and eluding and was released on a notice to appear with a court date set for early September. Doyle was additionally cited for fleeing and eluding, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, disregarding an official traffic control device, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and speeding 35+ miles per hour over the speed limit. 

On Aug. 17 at 6:23 p.m. Steven W. Blomberg, 31, of Rochelle was arrested on two outstanding Ogle County warrants and transferred.

On Aug. 14 at approximately 12:18 a.m. deputies initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of North Illinois Route 251 and Dutch Road for a traffic violation. Upon further investigation deputies arrested Dilxon Usiel Jiminez Roda, 19, of Rockford, for driving with no license. Roda was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was booked, released, and provided a notice to appear.

On Aug. 13 at 4:32 p.m. Cade Sharp, 23, of Aledo was cited for expired registration. He signed a promise to comply and was given a Sept. 13 Rochelle court date.

On Aug. 9 at 7:13 a.m. deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of East Wilson Street in Stillman Valley for a report of a stolen vehicle. During the course of the investigation, deputies arrested Nolan M. Wortman, 25, of Stillman Valley for motor vehicle theft (class-two felony), burglary to motor vehicle (class-three felony), theft under $500, and driving while license suspended. Wortman was transported to the Ogle County Jail. Due to the Pretrial Fairness Act, Wortman did not meet the criteria to be detained, and was released on a notice to appear with a future court date.

On Aug. 7 at 9:38 p.m. Jacob N. Garza, 21, of DeKalb was cited for operating a motor vehicle without insurance. He signed a promise to comply and was given an Aug. 30 Rochelle court date.

On Aug. 6 at approximately 11:28 p.m. deputies, with the assistance of the Byron Police Department, conducted a traffic stop at Illinois Route 2 and Illinois Route 72. After a brief investigation, deputies arrested Samuel Helms, 27, of Mendota, for an outstanding warrant from Henry County. Deputies also arrested Christopher Cloe, 42, of Dixon, for an outstanding Lee County warrant. Helms was also issued citations for suspended registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

On Aug. 6 at 5:10 a.m. Paul Perez, 30, of Rochelle was cited for speeding and improper passing. He signed a promise to comply and was given an Aug. 30 Rochelle court date.

On Aug. 4 at approximately 1:33 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop at Illinois Route 251 and Dutch Road. After an investigation, deputies arrested Antonio Cerrito-Olivares, 36, of Rockford, for driving while his license was revoked, with no insurance, and expired registration.  Cerrito-Olivares was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he received citations for the above charges and was released after processing on a notice to appear.  Cerrito-Olivares vehicle was towed from the scene.
